Up Close
When looking at the night sky we are often awed by silver specs of massive stars as they existed in the past. During daylight hours our Earth’s Sun appears to us as it was 8.5 minutes ago. Billions of miles further away our view of Sirius in the dark void of space is more than 8 years old.
Here on the surface of our shared Earthly home there are millions of inspiring wonders to experience up close as they appear to us in the intimate present. What comes to mind as I write this are rain drops holding onto brightly colored seed pods, soft textures of a bird’s myriad of overlapping feathers, and comforting tones of moss thriving on the shaded forest floor.
