Plant Life

Wherever we may have the opportunity to wander and wonder on our Earth’s surface from the forest floor to sand-swept deserts to marshy wetlands, expansive prairies and beyond there are about 391,000 vascular plant species and about 2,000 new species are identified every year.

Plants are essential to human existence. They provide oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide and give us food to nourish, fiber to weave into cloth, medicines to heal and gifts to decorate the lives of others.
