Location Details
What has become know as Driftwood Beach is located on Jekyll Island off the southeast coast of Georgia. The 5,700 acres island is designated as a state park but receives no funding from the state and is run by a self-sustaining self-governing body. During the early 1900’s the island was a private hunting retreat. Today well preserved “cottages” on the island form its historic district. There is a campground on the island as well as numerous lodging and recreational options. About 1,100 people currently reside on the island.
